The Government of Pakistan has announced exciting career opportunities through the Ministry of Science and Technology at the prestigious Pakistan Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (PCSIR) in Lahore. Job Descriptions

Research Officer (Microbiology)

• Responsibilities: Lead research activities in microbiology and bioprocess development, operate sophisticated analytical laboratory equipment, ensure quality assurance of bio-products through fermentation processes, and contribute to R&D initiatives under the PSDP project
• Qualifications: M.Phil in Microbiology with 3-4 years of experience in R&D organizations, preferably in PSDP projects. Must possess strong knowledge of analytical laboratory equipment operation and bioprocess technology
• Scope: Play a critical role in developing scientific protocols for cannabis processing and bio-product development, working with advanced laboratory facilities at PCSIR

Technician (Agriculture/Plant Breeding)

• Responsibilities: Assist in cultivation, harvesting, and processing of agricultural crops under experimental field conditions, conduct pilot plant processes and chemical reactions, ensure safe handling of raw materials, and support field research activities
• Qualifications: BSc/BS in Agriculture with minimum 2-3 years of experience in agriculture or plant breeding. Knowledge of chemical reactions and agricultural processing is essential
• Scope: Contribute to experimental cultivation programs and develop expertise in medicinal and industrial crop production under controlled research conditions

Technician (Textile Engineering)

• Responsibilities: Work with textile machinery, fiber processing systems, spinning operations, and industrial production systems. Focus on extraction of hemp fiber and spinning into string, plus design and development of fiber extraction machinery
• Qualifications: BSc/BS in Textile Engineering with minimum 2-3 years of experience in textile machinery, fiber processing, spinning, and industrial production systems. Practical experience in hemp fiber extraction is highly preferred
• Scope: Develop innovative fiber extraction and processing techniques for industrial cannabis applications, contributing to value-added product development

Eligibility Criteria & Age Relaxation

Nationality: Only Pakistani Nationals are eligible to apply for these positions.

Merit-Based Selection: The selection will be made purely on merit basis as per government rules and PCSIR recruitment policies.

Experience Requirements: All positions require relevant professional experience ranging from 2-4 years depending on the post. Candidates must provide documented proof of their experience through service certificates or employment letters.
