Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Librarian to join our team at Eden College Private Limited in Karachi Clifton. As a key member of our academic support team, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and promoting our library resources, services, and collections to support the academic and research needs of our students and faculty.

Responsibilities

• Collection Development: Develop, maintain, and evaluate the library’s collections in collaboration with faculty members and subject experts.

• Research Support: Provide research assistance to students, faculty, and staff, including literature searches, reference services, and instruction on research skills and library resources.

• Cataloging and Classification: Catalog and classify library materials using standardized cataloging systems and classification schemes.

• User Services: Provide excellent customer service, answer research questions, and help users navigate the library’s resources and services.

• Programming and Outreach: Plan and implement library programs, events, and outreach activities to promote literacy, lifelong learning, and library services.

• Technical Services: Assist with the acquisition, processing, and maintenance of library materials, including order processing, binding, and repair.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Library Science (MLS) or equivalent degree from a recognized institution.

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a library setting, preferably in a similar role.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.

• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

• Proficiency in library software and systems, including integrated library systems (ILS), online public access catalogs (OPACs), and other relevant tools.

• Job Type: Full-time

• Contract Length: 12 months (extendable based on performance and need)

• Work Location: Karachi Clifton, Pakistan (on-campus)
